The UMW is open to all women of the Ely United Methodist Church. Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the church at 2:00 pm from September through May, inclusive. Our monthly business meetings include discussions about the activities of the church, a short reading and discussion about the lesson. In addition to our monthly meetings, the UMW hosts a women’s Friendship Dinner and a Christmas Party each year.

Our UMW is an integral part of the Ely United Methodist Church. The UMW funds the Pasty making project 6 months during the year (October, November, January, February, March and April) and hosts a church Bazaar every other year. All funds from the church Pasty sales and Bazaar are deposited in the UMW account from which a percentage is provided to the church’s general account and the church’s building account. The balance is used to provide maintenance for the Parsonage, supplies for the church kitchen, kitchen equipment maintenance, youth group needs, and special outreach projects approved by the UMW.

The UMW at our church is not a women’s circle, but is part of a larger organization having over 800,000 members who focus on community and global mission initiatives.
