MEMORIAL COMMITTEE

We the Ely U.M.C. Memorial Committee give thanks for the many gracious gifts we have received in memory of and honor of family, friends, and loved ones, who have gone before us! Indeed, these many gifts are a testament to brothers and sisters who have completed the earthly journey of life.

The Memorial Committee of the Ely U.M.C. is the committee charged with the responsibility of the oversight given to gifts received by the Ely U.M.C. in memory of family, friends, and loved ones who have gone before us. This is a very special and important responsibility!

We seek to disburse memorial gifts in such a way that they may be able to enhance our potential for sharing in God's Ministry as the Family of God here in the Ely U.M.C.

The Memorial Committee is open to receiving ideas about how we might participate in honoring family, friends, and loved ones who have gone before us; yes, we continue to look for ways to use gifts given in memory of those special someone's in our lives while also enhancing our ministry together as the Family of God here in the Ely U.M.C.

If you have ideas for memorial gifts, do not hesitate to call the Church Office and share those ideas; ultimately the Memorial Committee with Administrative Council consent will determine what Memorial gifts are ones that we can and will participate in doing as a Church Family.

Still, the Memorial Committee is always looking for new ideas for gifts that gift givers may deem as acceptable as memorials and do not become redundant gifts. (For example, we can only have so many crosses on the Altar, or so many offering Plates.)
