The Prayer Shawl Ministry started in 2008 with the objective of making prayer shawls for members of our church, relatives and friends, and members of our community who need comfort and assurance that they have support from the Ely United Methodist Church and its members. The prayer shawls are knitted, crocheted, quilted or made from fleece. To date over 200 prayer shawls have been given out to those in need of comfort, and a Book of Shawls includes photos of all those who have received prayer shawls.

Chairperson of the Prayer Shawl Ministry is currently Bonnie Berglund. Joyce Mattila keeps the photo book up to date and available to share with the Church Family and Jeannie Tomlinson is the Prayer Shawl Ministry treasurer.
